THE STORY

Built from a need
I could recognise.

I wanted a language-learning tool that felt useful in the middle of real life—not another place to collect points.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
“The practice should be simple enough to return to, and specific enough to matter.”

WHY I STARTED

A small observation became a bigger question.

I’ve worked abroad in Austria, Germany, and the Netherlands, and I speak four languages. I kept seeing people navigate a new workplace and a new country while trying to learn the language around them.

Many learning apps I tried were busy with animations, rewards, or ads. Those approaches may work for some people, but they did not fit what I needed: clear practice for the language I would actually use.

So I began building WorkLang—a lean Android tool for short, deliberate sessions. The first material is English → Dutch, with practical domains for work and daily life.

WHERE IT COULD GO

A tool that can
fit the people using it.

As the project grew, so did the possibilities: different language connections, different contexts, and tailored learning for an individual, a company, an agency, or a school. I’m building toward that flexibility without pretending it is all finished today.

WorkLang is an independent project. I take questions, ideas, and collaboration requests personally.
